Who is MATEJA?
From the time I was a little girl I have loved the idea of working in fashion. Some of my fondest memories are of my dad taking me to fashion shows in San Francisco and the Bay Area. I was fascinated by classes on textiles, colors, body proportions, and how to dress to highlight them. I even spent time in a design studio, dreaming of one day becoming a designer.
As the years went on, I began my first retail job and discovered my passion for styling! I immediately fell in LOVE with helping women feel good about themselves. I myself am a mom. I understand the ups and downs with body weight and shape, and I have found that dressing right and taking care of the way I present myself is both a creative outlet and truly empowering as a woman and mother in my day to day. The fact that I get to help other women feel the same is the greatest gift!
There is one moment in particular that really marked the beginning of my journey as a stylist. A woman had walked into the shop where I worked, clearly feeling down about herself and her appearance. She had an event to attend that was approaching quickly and didn’t feel prepared or that she would even love anything she put on. I did my best to put together an outfit that complemented her personality and style and she left feeling confident and excited for the night she was stepping into! I’ll always treasure that moment because not only did she feel confident, but so did I!
I realized that helping someone feel good about themselves was more meaningful to me than just designing clothes. The fact that I get to pair both my passion for fashion as well as helping women live in their full potential is truly the dream! So here I am today, continuing in my journey as a personal stylist, empowering one woman at a time to dress with purpose and live with confidence!
